Pride is for everyone.
QueerBTown.org and the QueerBTown Fund started as a grassroots dream from LGBTQ+ folks in Bloomington who wanted more connection, support, and visibility in our community. We’re building something that celebrates queer life here—from local events to trusted resources and community funding.

What we’re building
The QueerBTown project is focused on delivering three key resources to help build community and support LGBTQ+ people in and around Bloomington and Monroe County:
📆 A queer-centered Events Calendar
📍 A Directory of queer-friendly businesses & services
💸 The Queer BTown Fund to support our community directly

Events Calendar: Find Your People, Build Community
Our events calendar is your go-to space for discovering what’s happening in queer Bloomington—whether you're looking to join a group that shares your interests or just want to connect with others in a welcoming space. We will feature everything from one-time meetups to annual celebrations—but the heart of the calendar is recurring gatherings that bring people together over time.
We’re inspired by models like Spencer Pride, and we’re working to build that same spirit of connection here in Bloomington. The kinds of events we’re excited to share are:
Rooted in shared interests and values
Open and welcoming to all LGBTQ+ folks
Designed to meet regularly and grow over time
Already part of a queer book club, sports group, potluck, or game night? Let’s connect. Want to start something new? We’d love to help make it happen.
Submit your event or pitch your idea using our contact form or email us at contact@queerbtown.org.
Directory: Queer-friendly Local Businesses and Services
Our directory connects you with local businesses, services, and organizations that support Bloomington’s LGBTQ+ community. Whether you're looking for affirming healthcare providers, queer-friendly restaurants, or local attorneys who’ve got your back, this is a great place to start.
We highlight a wide range of categories—from faith communities and healthcare providers to bars, real estate agencies, and bakeries & cafés—to help you find supportive, community-minded options across town.
We also shine a spotlight on LGBTQ+ led businesses, because we believe in supporting queer entrepreneurs and building economic power within our community.
If you run a local business, organization, or service that affirms and supports the LGBTQ+ community, you can request to be featured. Just submit our contact form or email us at contact@queerbtown.org and we’ll be in touch about the next steps.
QueerBTown Fund: Investing in Queer Futures
The QueerBTown Fund will be a community-powered resource supporting LGBTQ+ life in and around Bloomington and Monroe County. Managed by donors who also help lead the QueerBTown project and housed at the Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County, this fund is one way we will turn care into action—by backing projects that uplift queer voices, expand access, and grow the spaces where we can truly thrive.
From funding affirming resources for youth to helping grassroots organizers bring their visions to life, the fund is about showing up for each other—on purpose, and with love.
Want to support the fund or suggest a funding opportunity? You can submit our contact form or email us at contact@queerbtown.org to get involved.
